Andreas Antonopoulos was born on 30 January 1972 in London, UK. He is a British advocate, tech entrepreneur, and author. He is the host of his podcast show Let’s talk bitcoin. and he also teaches M.Sc students about digital currencies at the University of Nicosia. He has got his degree in Computer Science, Data Communications and Distributed Systems from University College London. He was a partner at Nemertes Research, where he has researched computer security, stating that the greatest threat to computer security was not experienced hackers, but overly complex systems that resulted from rapid change in business.

In January 2014, Antonopoulos has joined Blockchain.info as a chief security officer. But in September 2014 he left the CSO role. In April 2014, he has organized a fundraising campaign for Dorian Nakamoto, who was known as the creator of bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. On 8 October 2014, Andreas spoke in front of the Banking, Trade, and Commerce committee of the Senate of Canada to address the senators’ questions on how to regulate bitcoin in Canada.
