Mexico’s third-richest person and chairman at conglomerate Grupo Salinas, Ricardo Salinas Pliego have changed his Twitter bio to include a bitcoin hashtag.
Pliego has a net worth of over $13 billion as of January 2020, have changed his Twitter bio over the weekend to include the bitcoin hashtag.
On Saturday, after noticing the change many traders started trading in bitcoins which raised the price of BTC to over $40000 after 23 days.
In December, he revealed that he had bought his first bitcoin in 2013 for $200 and sold it in the bull run of 2017 for $17,000. He also described it as his best investment ever.
In November, he also said that 10% of his “liquid portfolio” is invested in BTC, with the remaining “in precious metals miners.” He had bought the bitcoins before November and when in December the price of BTC had a bullish rally, his investment doubled. However, he said he has no plans to sell the coins for the next 5 years.
Elon Musk has again promoted the dogecoin raising the price again of the coin. The price of DOGE has risen almost 600% in the last 30 days.
