Mike Hearn is stepping down from his position in R3
R3, the blockchain builder’s lead platform engineer Mike Hearn is stepping down from his position at the firm.
He will remain in the company but as a technical advisor, according to the memo sent to the staff.
The memo also read that Hearn has other ambitions to expand his range and start new projects.
He will become the CEO of his new company as well as remain with R3 as a technical advisor.
Mike has joined the company in 2015 and created the Corda platform with CTO Richard G. Brown. Recently he also looked after the Conclave system built using Intel’s SGX technology.
Hearn said he wanted to complete the process of Conclave and then move to his new projects.
He was a leading developer in building Bitcoin’s core software and one of the few people who had an email conversation with bitcoin’s creater Satoshi Nakamoto before joining R3. Earlier he was a senior software engineer and tech lead at Google.
It is not clear that what will be Hearn’s new projects till now.
