Nvidia is planning to launch Cryptocurrency Mining Processors (CMP)
Nvidia is launching Cryptocurrency Mining Processors (CMP) specifically for Ethereum miners. They have also announced that they will take special efforts so that their graphic cards are used by the gamers instead of the cryptocurrency miners.
Nvidia’s VP of global GeForce marketing, Matt Wuebbling, has said that the company’s RTX 3060 software drivers are “designed to detect specific attributes of the Ethereum cryptocurrency mining algorithm.
He further added that users are constantly discovering new applications and cryptocurrency mining is one of them.
But due to the strong demand of Ethereum miners’ for new GPU, there has been a shortage in supply and the gamers are not happy.
Nvidia RTX 30-series GPUs, first released last fall, were spotted in mining farms. If it detects mining activity, RTX 3060 drivers will limit its hash rate by around 50%.
The company is still planning to serve crypto miners and for that, they are launching Cryptocurrency Mining Processors (CMP). With a specific product for the miners, the gamers will not get disturbed.
